In the late 1890s, Norway was a tough place to make a living. Times were hard, and opportunities were few. My great-grandfather, a man with a wife and six children to feed, was desperate to find ways to support his family. With no other options, he made the difficult decision to leave behind his family to seek his fortune in America.

When he arrived in America he found work as a gold digger, combined with hard working as a lumberjack.

But the road was far from easy, spending years away from his family. He worked hard every day, digging for gold with nothing but hope and the belief that his efforts would eventually pay off.

And they did. He finally struck gold, earning enough to return to Norway and provide a better life for his loved ones. Back home, he used his skills and resources to craft leather goods. He built a new life from the ground up, rooted in hard work and determination.

His legacy lives on in DUPEMP, making premium leather products, combined with 14-karat gold, sterling silver and stainless steel. These products are truly special and honors the life my great-grandfather built with his own hands and heart.
